Guild Rules

The Power of the Officers:

The officers are in place to make sure things run smoothly. We are not almighty. If you have any suggestions or issues, please contact an officer ingame or via the forum. We would not want to get to a situation where our members are deeply unhappy but we didn't know anything about it. Talk to us and we will do everything we can to deal with it.

During raids, we expect people to listen to the raidleader. If you disagree to the tactics proposed, either whisper the raidleader, or raise the issue after it turned out the tactic was indeed wrong. We dissaprove of people debating or complaining about the proposed tactics in raidchat; in our experience it only slows down the raid.

Raiding etiquette:

  • Sign up: We have a raid planner where officers make runs to 10 and 25 man raids. Everyone is welcome to put up 5 man runs aswell, we ask you however to consult an officer before creating a 10/25 man signup.
  • Come prepared: Have the right gear for your main and an offspec with you, Bring Potions & Flasks, Reagents
  • Come informed: Read up on tactics if you are unfamiliar with fights. Although in general some explaining will be done for specific encounters, it really helps if everyone is familiar with them beforehand.
  • Be on time: Invites typically start at 20:00. We will replace people who made it to the line-up but did not show up at 20:15. The first pull happens at 20:30.
  • Ensure you have any consumables you need before the start time (water/food/reagents).
  • Learn from your mistakes, do not try to hide them but be upfront if you know you made a mistake. Mistakes can happen and we will not remove you from the guild for making them; however it can be frustrating if we adapt tactics unneeded (for example assigning more healers to a tank because you messed up and healed the wrong target).
  • If we wipe and corpserun, we all run. Generally the raidleader will announce whether we res up or corpserun. Don't expect others to res you so you can go afk.
  • On that note: Don't go AFK unannounced: Surely there will be a break in the raid, but do not say “brb” just before (or even worse, while) we are attacking trash or a boss.
  • Addons: Please have atleast the following addons installed when raiding; Omen, BigWigs, Ora2

Spotpriorities:

While we still need multiple evenings for a single instance, we will aim to keep people who were present during the first raid on all consecutive raids. This means that if you get locked to a raid, you should get the chance to finish it. Exceptions can be made for balancing reasons, or in the case that your performance is not up to par. In both these cases you will be informed by the raidleader. Because we do not want people who can't make the first raids (ie. all wednesday raids) to be locked out of raiding, we will form multiple groups throughout the week. For example, we might have a Naxxramas run starting on wednesday, continuing on sunday, and another Naxxramas raid starting on sunday, continuing on monday. When signing up for a continuation raid, we require you to mention whether you were present on the first raid.

Please also read the forum topic “The Raidplanner and You” for information about the way we chose who we take on a run.

Loot division for progression runs:

We do not want to use a DKP system since we feel this is (1) a lot of work to administer, and (2) it does not promote coming to raids often in a way that we like. Instead, we use a /roll system, with some priority rules that are intended to slightly benefit our regular raiders over those who raid incidentally. Please understand that our officers are considered Raiders too.

  1. The general rule about /rolling on items, is that after you received an item during a raid, other people will have preference over you. This does not mean you are limited to only item item per raid; if you are the only person interested in an item you are of course free to pick it up.
  2. For Tier-items and weapons, Champions have priority over Legionaires.
  3. On other items Legionaires & Champions have the same preference over Recruits, but not over each other.
  4. An item received through this preference system does count towards the 1 item per run for that character.
  5. Alts that are brought for raid balance have the same priority as their mains, otherwise alts should be sensible enough to pass when an item is an upgrade for a main character. The raidleader can enforce this.

These rules make the following rolling order:

Tiered item or weapon priority order

  • Champion who has not yet received an item this run
  • Legionaire who has not yet received an item this run
  • Recruit who has not yet received an item this run
  • Champion who has received an item already
  • Legionaire who has received an item already
  • Recruit who has received an item already

Other items priority order

  • Champions or Legionaires who have not yet received an item
  • Recruits who have not yet received an item
  • Anyone who has received an item already

Special quest items such as the blood of Zul'Jin

  • The raidleader calls out how to deal with those. In case of special access keys, the item may be assigned. Otherwise, people may be called to /roll; these special items generally don't count towards your 1 item per run.

Recipies When recipies drop, the raidleader will call for rolls among the people present with the appropriate profession. If the pattern is Bind on Equip, it may be taken by the raidleader for the guildbank.

Raidleaders have final call in all lootmatters. In some cases it is desirable to assign specific equipment to specific characters, for example gearing up the main tank or other critical characters.

Loot division for farmruns:

On farmruns, we stick to /roll, and we keep the one item per run rule. Farmruns are special in that they don't take the rank of members into account.

Order of lootdivision on farmruns

  • Main character + Main spec
  • Main character + Offspec
  • Alt character + Main spec
  • Alt character + Offspec

Rules we shouldnt have to tell you:

  • Be social: Say hello and goodbye, answer questions, talk in guildchat. Don't swear – keep in mind that random “FFS” outbursts in guildchat don't add to the atmosphere.
  • Do not spam our chats with any kinds: We all don't like to be spammed by goldsellers, so please understand that we also do not like spam like dpsmeters or epic drops from The Sunwell.
  • Do not whine: Ofcourse there can be a discussion sometimes, but don't whine for raidingspots, for gear, for attention, etc.
  • No excessive use of guild bank materials (without permission), or with too little compensation
  • Two months of inactivity warrants a gkick. If you will be inactive for a while and have a good reason, please state this to an officer beforehand.
